Phase 2 Survey Results

We conducted a survey last week regarding the state’s Phase 2 restaurant requirements and some potential business model changes. The survey was open for a full 24 hours and had 54 respondents.

For these first three results we asked people to tell us how often they were coming in for a certain activity before the shutdown, and then how often they thought they would come in for the same activity during Phase 2.

Question: How often were you drinking on premise before the shutdown and how often do you think you’ll drink on premise during Phase 2?

Once of a week or MORE goes DOWN by 21%
Twice a month or LESS goes UP by an average of 5.3%

Question: How often were you eating on premise before the shutdown and how often do you think you’ll eat on premise during Phase 2?

Once of a week or MORE goes DOWN by 18.5%
Twice a month or LESS goes UP by an average of 4.58%

Question: How often were you buying items to go before the shutdown and how often do you think you’ll buy items to go during Phase 2?

Once a month or MORE goes UP by an average of 6.13%
LESS than once a month goes DOWN by an average of 9.25%

Some of our additional comments from these questions included not willing to go to places that require contact tracing, (the governor has since retracted that requirement) staying away until a vaccine or antibody test is widely available and not wanting to continue to wear a mask in the evening after wearing one all day.

The rest of the questions focused on potential business model changes during Phase 2

Question: How often would you come in if we didn’t have food or you could bring your own food in?

85.2% said they would come in about the same as before

Question: Which days are you most likely come in?

Wed-Sat were the most popular with 87% of the vote

Question: Which hours are you most likely come in?

4pm to 8pm with 74.6.% of the vote

Question: How happy would you be with a cashless system on a scale of 1-10, (10 being the happiest)?

75% of people chose 10, with the rest of the majority spread out over 7, 8 and 9

Question: What are the reasons you would shop elsewhere?

Convenience 40.6%
Price 15.9%
Variety 15.9%

Some of our additional comments were that people are looking to buy spirits, spread the love around to other similar businesses, their income level has lowered, they still receive wine from their wine clubs and that they are loyal to us only and don’t actually buy from other places, (thanks!)
